Goodman JFS helps those in desperate need by providing financial assistance when no other family member or community resources are available, sufficient or appropriate. We understand that unexpected financial emergencies can leave someone feeling blindsided and helpless. Whether it’s a job loss, medical expenses or an emergency home repair, the sudden change in a financial situation can be enormously stressful.

The Emergency Financial Assistance program is designed to be a one-time crisis intervention for help with basic needs. We provide assistance with food, rent, utilities and more for seniors, families and individuals throughout Broward County.

Compassionate social workers evaluate each applicant individually, maintaining the highest degree of sensitivity, confidentiality, respect and discretion. We understand the personal struggles and the difficulty in making the decision to reach out for help. Goodman JFS aims to help each applicant in some way, whether through direct services or appropriate referral to another organization or service.
