Breaking the Silence
On behalf of Goodman JFS, thank you for considering supporting our annual “Breaking the Silence” event, benefitting our domestic abuse program. This program allows us to provide survivors and their children with case management, emergency financial assistance, counseling support, and access to our food and clothing pantries.
Chaired by Susan Samrick and Liz Samrick the 13th Annual “Breaking the Silence Soiree” will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020, 5:30 pm at the Gallery of Amazing Things in Dania. We look forward to welcoming 400 attendees for a wonderful evening filled with cocktails, small plates and sweet desserts as well as an amazing shopping boutique for both men and women, spirit tasting and shoe shining!
Keynote speaker Rachel Louise Snyder will share with us the real roots of private violence, its far-reaching consequences for society and what it will take to truly address it. She is the author of award winning “No Visible Bruises: What We Don’t Know About Domestic Violence Can Kill Us”
This year we will be honoring Mindy Jones, Esq. with the Breaking the Silence Award. As a supervising attorney with Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida, Mindy Jones has been representing victims of intimate partner violence for nineteen years. She provides holistic legal services to victims for all of their civil legal needs. Mindy is in her fourth term as President of the Broward Domestic Violence Council, an organization dedicated to reducing incidents of domestic violence.
