At one time or another in our lives, most of us face a wide range of challenges, including issues that arise from bereavement, anxiety, depression, lifestyle transitioning, relationships, family dynamics, conflicts with children, behavioral problems, trauma or job stress. Goodman JFS professionals understand life’s stresses and assist individual clients, couples and families with managing a wide range of issues and conflicts.Goodman JFS recognizes these challenges and offers a clinical counseling program that provides our community with a sensitive and caring atmosphere, unmatched in Broward County.

We are the one place in the community with a 52-year tradition of providing compassionate, high-quality, confidential, affordable and effective counseling and emotional support.

We help families and individuals from every background, religion, race, culture, sexual orientation or economic status. Goodman JFS is committed to ensuring that everyone in our community has a lifeline of support.

Seniors who are eligible may receive counseling in the home.

Goodman JFS employs professional licensed clinical social workers, psychologists, mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists who provide individual, family and group therapy for a diverse population on a range of issues.

Individual Therapy

It is important to have someone to help with balancing life’s difficult demands and providing coping tools. Goodman JFS therapists are trained in many areas, including anger management, anxiety and depression.

Couples Therapy

Goodman JFS professionals help partners to face a wide range of challenges, including issues that arise through life-cycle transitions, finances, family relationships, conflicts with children and teenagers, interfaith marriage, infidelity, job stress, midlife crisis, and issues surrounding separation and divorce.

Child and Family Therapy

Child and family therapy provided by Goodman JFS counselors is individualized to meet the particular needs of each family or child. Some of the problems that our therapists assist families with include child and adolescent/parent conflicts, communication, blended family issues, compulsive behaviors, separation/divorce, loss of loved ones, anger management, life-threatening/chronic illness and traumatic life events. We provide counseling for children and families experiencing divorce, bereavement, anxiety, depression, social adjustment and other conflicts and issues.

Support Groups

Support groups offer the opportunity to process feelings and learn effective coping skills. Goodman JFS currently offers support groups for bereavement, survivors of domestic abuse and caregivers.  Click here for more information

In-Home Counseling for Seniors

In-home counseling is tailored for those who struggle with a disability or physical limitations, or who lack transportation or other assistance in getting to a therapist’s office, or who prefer to talk to someone in the comfort of their own home.
