The Feed the Need Brunch

Join the fight against hunger! Goodman JFS will host their 3rd annual Feed the Need brunch benefiting The Dorit & Ben J. Genet Cupboard, providing kosher food to help alleviate hunger in the Jewish Community in Broward. A kosher brunch prepared and served by Eden Regal Ballroom & Catering will be served. The Dorit & Ben J. Genet Cupboard is supported entirely by donations from the community. Kosher food is obtained from a partnership with Feeding South Florida, community food drives, and retail store donations.

Goodman JFS of Broward County will host its third annual Feed The Need Brunch at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, September 15, 2019. Proceeds will benefit The Dorit & Ben J. Genet Cupboard, the Goodman JFS food choice program, which provides kosher food to help eliminate hunger in Broward County’s Jewish community.

The event will honor Rabbi Yosef Weinstock, Young Israel of Hollywood and Nicole Maristany Krauss, Publix Super Markets Charities. Rabbi Weinstock has served Young Israel of Hollywood and the Greater Fort Lauderdale community since 2005. He has spearheaded numerous food drives that resulted in thousands of pounds of food donations to the Cupboard.

As the Media & Community Relations Manager for the Southeast Region of Publix Super Markets Inc., Krauss has been instrumental in securing food donations from Publix for Goodman JFS since 2013.

Food Justice Advocate Clancy Harrison will serve as the keynote speaker. Harrison is the founder of multiple grassroots anti-hunger projects and is a lead researcher and co-author of the forthcoming Hunger Corporate Guidebook for the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Her mission is to abolish the stigma surrounding food assistance programs.

Chaired by Jodi Berman, Wendi Norris, and Mindy Wolpert, the Feed The Need Brunch will be held at the Eden Regal Ballroom & Catering, 1400 N. 46th Avenue, Hollywood, FL.
