Jewish Family Service volunteers are people of all ages who enjoy helping others and want to contribute to the betterment of our community. As vital members of our team of professionals, volunteers use their life experience skills to provide critically needed services to the elderly of Broward County. Here’s how you can help.
Play an essential role in the collection, sorting, bagging, delivery and distribution of groceries to our needy homebound elders year-round.
Respite for Elders Living In Everyday Families provides support for caregivers who are providing constant care for a frail, homebound elder.
JFS Friendly Visitors are volunteers who elect to visit isolated and sometimes homebound seniors on a regular basis. These very special volunteers provide companionship to JFS clients, while also alerting the JFS care manager to issues and problems that the client might need assistance with.
Participate in the joy of giving back to the community through Mitzvah projects that benefit JFS.
Telephone Reassurance
Telephone reassurance encourages elders to exercise their minds while engaging in comforting conversations with volunteers on a regularly scheduled basis.
Matches teens ages 15 and up with a homebound isolated senior for a weekly telephone call. Teens will receive community service hours for their calls.
