 More About Domestic Abuse

Does your partner….

  • Criticize you or call you names
  • Monitor your whereabouts
  • Threaten to take your children
  • Keep you from spending time with family and friends
  • Control your financial resources or access to financial information
  • Destroy your property
  • Push, shove, grab, or choke you

Remember: Every couple argues.  But no one should be threatened, insulted, or feel fearful.

Did you know?

  • Nearly 1 in 3 adult women and 1 in 5 teens will be physically or sexually abused
  • The rate for domestic abuse for Jewish women is comparable to the general population.  However, Jewish women tend to stay in abusive relationships almost twice as long as non-Jewish women
  • Abusive behavior can be passed from generation to generation
  • There IS a place you can go for help!
