JFS currently provides DUI court ordered counseling groups that are required for a variety of administrative DUI offenses. JFS also offers individual psychotherapy for the treatment of addictions.
These groups focus on key areas of behavior, including addiction to substances both legal and illegal, as well as isolated DUI offenses. There are two primary goals of the groups. One is to help individuals become aware of what they need to do to avoid mind-altering substances while driving a car. The second is to have them recognize their own addiction and develop a better understanding of addiction issues.
The DUI group is a starting point for treatment. The first step is to make sure, whatever the reason, that driving while under the influence stops completely. After completion, group members are encouraged to seek counseling to deal with ongoing issues. JFS therapists are available though the Counseling and Psychotherapy page.
