The generosity of our community makes it possible for Jewish Family Service to meet the essential human service needs of friends, family and neighbors here at home year after year. Each financial contribution has the potential to transform the lives of those who are challenged by poverty, disability, aging, domestic violence, addiction & recovery, failing health and so much more.

In Honor of or In Memory of...

There can be no more meaningful way to honor friends and family than through a “gift of hope” to JFS of Broward County’s humanitarian agency. Our “custom tribute program” makes it easy.

Jewish Family Service is pleased to offer four distinctive greeting card designs created in Israel – simple yet elegant. These quality full-colored, gold-foiled greeting cards are blank inside, so the message can be computer-calligraphied by our office especially for the recipient.

Make a donation in Honor or in Memory of someone special and we will be happy to notify them or their family about your generosity. No gift is too small. We will not disclose the amount of your donation unless you wish us to do so.
 Automatic Chai Recurring Gifts

"Chai" is the Hebrew word for life. When you participate in the JFS "Automatic Chai" by making a recurring tax deductible contribution to the fund of your choice, every dollar you donate goes directly to improving, and in some cases, saving the lives of those in need.  What better gift is there to give your neighbor than the gift of life!

Click here to Donate to the Besner Shible Kosher Food Delivery Program
Provides supplemental kosher food once a month to senior clients of JFS. This is a 100% volunteer driven program that allows volunteers to share the very special value of sharing food with those in need.

Seniors who must consider abstaining from meals to pay rent or utilities and those who have difficulty going to the grocery store are dependent on this program. JFS volunteers enjoy the benefit of a two-fold mitzvah: delivering bags of groceries for those in need and visiting isolated and frail seniors. The delivery of food helps to assure these seniors are not forgotten.

Volunteers assist in all the aspects of the program, from purchasing food, sorting and bagging the items to arranging the deliveries. BSK Volunteers are also instrumental in helping JFS determine the status of the clients and their unmet needs.

Funded through a grant from the Conference on Material Claims Against Germany, the Jewish Federation of Broward County and the Jewish Community Foundation of Broward County (JCF); the Holocaust Survivors Assistance Program reflects a deep commitment to assist the aging population of survivors to receive the care they need. As the elderly population in Broward continues to grow, our goal is to ensure that our survivors are able to age in place, with basic comfort and dignity.

For so many who have no one, or nothing to fall back on, JFS can help.
We qualify each individual, identify the needs, and can call landlords, FPL, local pharmacies and a variety of service providers to make arrangements to help with critical problems, such as electricity and phone shut-off notices. More importantly, when assistance is needed, such as temporary home care, cleaning services, applications for Medicaid or other government programs, care managers can provide assistance.
